Back in 2020 we produced a spreadsheet listing all the sizes of C section that we had available to us as Engineers.

Update Our Hot State member checks were launched a few weeks ago and have garnered much interest, however one question that keeps being asked is what boards are used and what ratings in terms of time are available so we thought we'd publish an abridged table showing the solutions available. 

 

New Hot State Member capacity tool launched to decrease time and cost for designers and engineers 

 

 

The new tool which has taken 5 years to develop can calculate Hot State Member Capacities for #LGS as well as offering a fire rating based on board manufacturer test data. 

 

Another client has received their SCI / NHBC Stage 1 certificate, this time for FIFTEEN stories of Light Gauge Steel

We have recently been asked to provide interactive load span tables for a new manufacturer 

Others said it couldn't be done.  

 

Some called it Mission Impossible. 

 

We said, "You want it next Thursday or Friday?"

Recently we were employed by a client who approached us to design a single storey building for them in light gauge steel. 

 

The BCSA have published the National Light-gauge Steelwork Specification (NLSS) to promote greater consistency in project specifications involving light-gauge steel frames and the Building Centre is offering a FREE webinar on Tue 26 Nov 2024, 1 pm - 2 pm 

We have continued to develop calculations to allow engineers to calculate load bearing member capacity under fire conditions for light gauge steel members. Now we have added tools to calculate thermal induced bowing based on hot and cold flange temperatures.
