Back in 2020 we produced a spreadsheet listing all the sizes of C section that we had available to us as Engineers.
Today we've expanded that list and added a few more manufacturers, including:
Birkbeck Structures,
Bespoke Structures,
BHC,
Caledan,
Clonoe Custom Sheds,
DF Sheds,
Egan Bennet,
Frameclad,
Framespace,
Hamilton Metal Forming,
Metal Frame Structures,
Steadman
The spreadsheet, available here, contains 1071 rows of data and is broken down into:
Depth of profile
Width of profile
Lip size
Bend radi
Thickness
Grade of material
Users can freely filter by the above and find manufacturers with the same profiles, and we have also created a list of common profiles and their percentage commonality amongst the manufacturers by depth and flange width.
Users can also enter a depth and flange width that they are interested in and view the number of profiles available in that dimension
The summary demonstrates that the most common profile we are aware of is the 150mm depth making up 13.4% of the depths available, with the 100mm taking up 11.6% and 75mm and 89mm/ 90mm making up a lowly 4 and 3.2% each respectively.
The profiles depths range from a tiny 37.3mm to a pushing the limits of 'Light Gauge' 500mm, and thickness range from 0.7mm upto a defintion busting 8mm!
Yield strengths likewise range from 280N/mm2 to 550N/mm2
If all this sounds too complicated for words then you might be interested in our sister companies offerings at www.mess.uk.com where they sell Tedds plug ins for Light Gauge Steel that make it childs play!
