September '11 - Following the checking of SCI Cuidance and worked examples to EN19993-1-3 at the start of the year and the purchase of Tedds, the practice are pleased to announce that we have written the SCI based guides in Tedds for our day to day calculations. August '11 - Practice starts work on Load Span Tables for PSP Metal Facade Solutions. The Load Span Tables are for PSP's Matrix One carrier system and are written to Eurocode EN 199-1-1.
August '11 - The practice invest's in Tedds by CSC. July '11 - Practice produces scheme design for thirteen storeys in true light gauge steel using 75mm profile walls. July '11 - Practice wins engineering and design for three more PEB's. July '11 - Solar shades for Afghanistan near completion. Case study added. June '11 - Lily house takes off. We have completed designs for five houses for social housing landlords in Orpington and Metcon (Ireland) are breaking ground in July. Works included foundation, acoustics, SAP and, of course, light gauge steel design. June '11 - The practice design three more barracks for seismic design in Afghanistan to Eurocodes and seismic design. March '11 - Practice expands into Eastern Europe. December '10 - The practice has won it's second portal frame / light gauge steel scissor truss project in Russia thanks to Howick and their Russian agent Igor Daviduk August '10 - Lily House goes live at Ebbw Vale. Lily house is by Dragon Board is a Code Level 5 Light Gauge Steel House. Lily House has a U value of 0.12 and an air leakge test of 0.37 (which is amazing bearing in mind a pass is 10 and Passive standards are 0.6). The practice provided engineering for the project. August '10 - Practice celebrates it's 1st Birthday. A huge thankyou to all our customers. We couldn't have done it without you! July '10 - W A Browne CE Marking assessment is lodged with SCI July '10 - The practice has gone Limited - the eagle eyed amongst you may notice the slight change in the logo, but other than that and becoming VAT registered you will notice no difference in our service to you, our clients. April '10 - Stephen Napper Associates are producing a Technical Manual to the upcoming Eurocodes for Light Gauge Steel (EC3) for Green 5 Star Homes of Cyprus and are assisting W A Browne with their CE Marking application - a UK first it is believed. April '10 - The practice have produced designs for a twenty metre by ten metre single storey structure to the Eurocodes for a client in a seismic zone. Design included seismic design, wind analysis, concrete slab and foundation design and light gauge steel design all to the relevant Eurocodes. Another UK first it is believed. Eurocodes UPDATE : The practice are working with the SCI and other interested parties to produce formal guidance on the new Eurocodes and can confirm that they came into effect "from March 2010" according to correspondence the practice have had with Lord McKenzie (Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at Communities and Local Government).
